1) What are the PC requirements to use the USB Internet phone and InCall Phone Center application?

Hardware
200MHz (or faster) Pentium compatible CPU

2) Is the InCall Phone Center application easy to install?

Yes, very easy, put in the CD, install the application, plug in the USB cable from your USB Internet phone - no tools required. Full details, please go to Installation page.

3) Can I use the USB Internet phone with other Internet Telephony services?

Yes, you can use your USB Internet phone with all of the popular services including Dialpad, Net2Phone, MediaRing etc. For help with placing a web call please go to Web Call page.

4) What is IPC?

IPC stands for InCall Phone Center, InCall Phone Center is your "one stop" application for placing the full range of Internet Telephony calls. Click here for more information.

5) How do I place a call from my PC to another PC?

6) How do I place a call from my PC to a regular phone number?

You can place a call to a regular phone number using a Personal Phone Gateway (PPG). For help with placing a call through a PPG to a regular phone number, please go to PPG Call page.

7) How can I tell if my friend is on-line and I can place a call to her/him.

When your friend is on-line and ready to receive a call the light bulb next to their name glows yellow, if their bulb is red they are already in a call. When they are off-line their light bulb is gray.

8) Can I use my USB Internet phone to place free calls to US and Hong Kong phone numbers?

Yes, we have demonstration Personal Phone Gateways installed in the US and Hong Kong that you can place free calls through to regular Hong Kong and US phone numbers. As these are demonstration systems your call time is limited. With your own PPG you can enjoy unlimited calls to any number anywhere in the world.

9) Can I use the InCall Phone Center application with other sound hardware?

In order to ensure the very best call quality the InCall Phone Center only supports the CuPhone USB Internet phones. 11) My PC is behind a Router and a Firewall, can I still place outbound calls using my USB Internet Phone and the InCall Phone Center application?

Yes, the InCall Phone Center application implements advanced techniques that enables calls to be placed out through all of the popular Routers and Firewalls.

12) My PC is behind a Router and a Firewall, can I still receive calls using my USB Internet phone and the InCall Phone Center application?

Yes, if you configure your router to forward port 6667 (also known as IRC server) to the PC with InCall Phone Center installed.

13) I have multiple PCs on a local network (LAN) behind a Router and a Firewall, can all of my PCs receive and place calls simultaneously?

Yes, if you have a Personal Phone Gateway (PPG) installed on your local network, all of your PCs can simultaneously place and receive calls through your Router and Firewall. For more information on how to configure your router to support the Personal Phone Gateway (PPG), click here.

14) Can I use Internet access through a dial-up modem to place and receive calls?

15)My friend is not listed in my Buddy List, how do I add him/her?

16) How do I know what version of InCall Phone Center is installed?

Right click on the InCall Phone Center icon in your tray and select about.


17) Why does the icon for InCall Phone Center in the tray change color?

The icon color for InCall Phone Center will change depending on it's status;

Yellow - ready to place and receive calls.

Green - you are in a call.

Red - your USB Internet phone is not plugged in.

18) My PC is unable to detect my USB Internet phone, what do I need to do?

Try un-plugging your USB Internet phone, counting to 10 and plugging it back in.

Check the PCs USB socket with another USB device.

19) Why is my InCall Phone Center unable to contact the server?

Check you have Internet access by opening your browser.

The Buddy server is occasionally taken off-line for maintenance.

20) During installation I am asked for my email address - why?

Your friends will be able to add you to their Buddy Lists by entering your email address.

You can use any email address that you want provided that no other InCall Phone Center or PPG user is already using the email address that you entered.

21) How do I place a call through a gatekeeper?

To set up an entry in your Buddy List so you can place calls through a gatekeeper please visit the static gateway/gatekeeper page.

22) How come every time when I enter a number on my Super USB keypad, it prints double digits (2 numbers)?

To solve this problem, please try to make a call (use the keyboard instead of the phone keypad to enter the numbers). During the call, please reduce your volume controller of the microphone and speakers.
